Are Brown Spotting, Cramps And Nausea Early Signs Of Being Pregnant?

I have been having brown spotting on and off for about 12 days now. About the time I started spotting I had some stronger cramps after a shower and felt the urge to push. I didn't have to go to the bathroom, nor did I when I pushed, but I felt a strong urge to push and I have never experienced that before. I have had nausea, fatigue, occasional mild cramping, swelling in my fingers, and some dizzy spells. I have had the mirena for over a year and a half now and can feel my strings. I returned from active duty deployment and did not have a period while I was gone or for the first few monts after returning home. I had a normal period around Thanksgiving in November, a period again in December around Christmas. My period was a week early in January although I can't remember the exact date. I took a home pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. I am supposed to have my IUD removed tomorrow and am unsure what I should do.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
These are not considered to be signs of pregnancy, rather Mirena is causing these side effects. If you want to continue with this birth control, you may do so, as most likely you will stop having periods in a few months.
Pregnancy is very unlikely with this IUCD in situ.
Take care.
