After Fertign 5000 The Egg Is Not Ruptured Is There Any Problem?

i'm keerthana..age 24...weight 46..i took fertigyn5000 injection in 13 th day...in that day my egg size 22*18 in right overay.. doctor told egg will be rupture within 36 hrs...but my egg not rupture after the 72 hrs it's developed...why my egg is not rupture..is this any serious problem...what i will do?

Hi,

The possible causes of your problem are:
-Sometimes a higher dose of the injection may need to release the ovum. So, you can go for one more dose of Fertigyn 5000 IU with your doctor's advice.
-Sometimes due to the effect of excessive FSH, follicular cyst may form instead of ovulation.
-Luteinized unruptured follicle, etc.

If you do not ovulate even after second dose, better to take steps like:
-Undergoing estimation of Estrogen, progesterone, FSH and LH levels.
-Changing the medicine of ovulation induction.
-Taking the double dose of beta hCG injection next time with your doctor's advice.
You can discuss these things with your gynecologist and follow her advice.
