Abdominal Cramp While Bending. Taking Insulin For Diabetes. Cause?

I was getting dressed to go for Sunday Service and sat on a settee to slip on my socks. While bending down to do so I got a very bad muscle cramp on the Left Hand Side of my abdomen. I could feel the twisted/knotted muscle. I then lay down on my bed and relaxed to allow the muscle spasm to ease off. I am diabetic and am on Insulin (80 units - 3 times a day). I have experienced muscle cramps before in other parts of the body - lower limbs, neck etc..
Question: What causes these muscle cramps? Is there any supplements or oral medication to prevent this problem? Thank you!

Hi,
Due to diabetes of long duration there is Neuritis or peripheral neuritis giving rise to neuritic pain or cramps.
Go for B1, B6, B12 injection or capsules.
Go for exercise like walking, swimming, slow running.
Reduce weight if you are overweight.
Ok and take care.
