28 Weeks Pregnant, Baby Underweight. Prescribed Argipreg. Is It Safe For Baby?

I am 28 weeks pregnant. My baby wt was 930 gm, which the radiologist says is below normal. I discussed with the Gynae and she recommended me to take argipreg sachet 1 daily during bedtime.
While browsing about argipreg on the net, I came to know that it is a steroid. I am a bit apprehensive about taking it now.
Can u please throw some more light on argipreg? Is it safe for the baby?

Hello

The average fetal age at 28 weeks is 1 kg. So your baby is nearing that. It is not so underweight. The fetal well being does not depend on the weight alone.
The fetal parameters corresponding to each other and to the gestational age and an adequate amount of liquor are the other determinants.

ARGIPREG contains L-ARGININE which is an amino acid , a nutritional supplement which is supposed to be of some help in conditions of utero placental insufficiency and fetal growth retardation.
