20 weeks pregnant, tensing sensation over stomach, nausea. Cause of worry?

I am having tensing sensation spread over the top of my belly and makes me feel sick while it lasts... sometimes it is every couple minutes, sometimes it is even closer than that. I am 20 weeks pregnant and it has been going on all day, but seems to be more frequent this evening. No other concerning signs to mention, but should this worry me?

Radiologist 's  Response
Hi, welcome to HCM.
It is common for such tension feeling in abdomen. Possibly they are arising due to intermittent uterine contractions. It is not worry some. However it will be better if you consult your gynaecologist for the same.
You may need medication like uterine relaxant to avoid unnecessary contraction.

Hope I have answered your query.

General & Family Physician Dr. Mukesh Porwal's  Response
off & on tensing sensation over abdomen at 20 weeks pregnancy is definitely a matter of concern. it could be a symptom of a threatened abortion or a ectopic pregnancy. you should urgently go for a ultrasound scan to look for any pathology and any abnormal foetal condition. urgently get in touch with your gynecologist.
