2 Year Old With Bloated Stomach, Pain And Projecting Belly Button. Need Suggestions
Hi, my toddler aged 2 yrs is suffering since he began eating solids with his tummy, when he eats he never knows when to stop until I actually stop him from eating, his tummy is so bloated it looks like it will burst, his belly button is sticking out. I actually dread him eating as when he starts he cannot stop. His tummy is so bloated at night that he rolls around the bed & passes terrible wind which relieves the pain. His nappies can vary but are violently smelly, I had test done on him showing lactose intolerance but even by following strict diet, his tummy has got no better so now I am worried this is something else as problem is not getting any better, hoping you might guide me in right direction?

In am sure , your doctor must have treated your child for worm infestations, which is a common cause of this type of symptoms. Lactose intolerance is more likely to cause chronic diarrhea rather than voracious appetite. Another thing which should be ruled out is wheat allergy for which a blood test -TTG is advised. I think you should consult a well experienced child specialist in your town as your child needs to be properly investigated for these symptoms.
