Brief Answer:
This is not a known side effect of plaque nil!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulties you have with your sense of smell and taste. This is not a common side effect of plaquenil and would be unlikely to have been responsible for these changes. However, if this happened shortly after starting this medication, there may be link that has not been recognized. if this is the car, talk to your doctor about the possibility of stopping for a while to see what the changes in these would be. If they stay same, then they are not due to the medication and should they improve, then there are reasons to think this drug is the culprit.

Ultimately, the best person to talk to about these symptoms is the ENT specialist. If solutions are not obtained with your doctor, please ask him to refer you to this specialist for further examination, investigation and management.

I hope this helps, I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel fee to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
