Hello Doctor,

Would like to share few information on basis of the above questions.
She is getting light periods since past 1-1.5 years and not from the beginning . There has been a weight gain of around 6-8 kgs in the past 5 years or so.
There is no haemoglobin or thyroid tests which has been done so far and she gets regular periods every month but it lasts for only 1.5 to 2 days.
No other information worth mentioning for the matter than stated above.

Brief Answer:
Get blood tests done

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for providing information.
Since she is getting regular periods I think she does not need to worry.
However weight gain or low hemoglobin can cause light period.
I suggest you get her hemoglobin test and thyroid done to rule out anemia and hypothyroidism. If she is anemic she needs to be treated with iron supplements. I also suggest her to eat iron rich food.
If she is overweight they she needs to reduce weight. You can calculate her BMI to know whether she is overweight or not. I suggest her to do physical exercises to reduce weight to avoid thyroid and menstrual problems.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you. Once you done with tests let me know about results.
Thank you.
