default
Posted on Wed, 25 Feb 2015
Question: I started with a migraine on Saturday it started with eye aura. I've had a headache off and on since then it's been in different areas of my head. Took some over the counter migraine medicine didnt seem to do much other than to dull the headache. Today I woke up with a headache again. I drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. Not sure if it will pass or if I should see my doctor. I'm Generally very healthy I had my blood pressure taken and it was 105/70 and my pulse was 60.

Brief Answer:
If the pain will persist for more days/get worse, should consult neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

If I was your caring doctor would advise to rule out:
- anemia
- thyroid problems
- issues related with blood vessels (narrowing of arteries)

Meanwhile, I recommend to:
- continue taking the pain-killers you are using at the moment
- continue drinking plenty of water and getting plenty of rest
- avoid foods/odors/drinks that would trigger or aggravate the symptoms

The migraine attacks will generally last for a few days. If the symptoms won't improve or will get worse or if the migraine attacks will be more frequent, should consult with neurologist for further evaluations and specific treatment.

Hope it was of help!
