What Does This Widal Test Report Indicate?

Question: My clinical test results are as follows for blood tested today at about 10AM.
Salmonalla typhi O 1/20 +ve, 1/40 +ve, 1/80 +ve, 1/60 -ve, 1/320 -ve.
Salmonalla typhi H 1/20 +ve, 1/40 +ve, 1/80 +ve, 1/60 -ve, 1/320 -ve.
Salmonalla paratyphi AH 1/20 -ve, 1/40 -ve, 1/80 -ve, 1/60 -ve, 1/320 -ve.
Salmonalla paratyphi BH 1/20 -ve, 1/40 -ve, 1/80 -ve, 1/60 -ve, 1/320 -ve.

Widal reaction positive for Salmonella typhi

Till yesterday my body temp under tonge was about 99 to 100. But today it is less or equal to 99degF

I understand your concern and situation.


Firstly your test for Widal is not definitive because O antigen is below 100 and H antigen is below 200. So I would suggest you to get tyhidot test or blood culture for salmonella done. In your case it appears to be viral infection. Mostly self limiting and requires rest, diet and hydration to be maintained. Take acetaminophen if fever. Get haemogram done. Visit a GP for evaluation.
