Brief answer....explained below
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and seen the reports.
It suggests that patient is suffering from dengue fever.
It is usually a self limiting disease and there is no specific anti viral therapy available to treat dengue.
Treatment consists of ant fever medicines, total bed rest and proper fluid replacement.
99% cases of dengue become all right with this treatment only.
It is only in 1% cases that complications develop.
Keep a regular watch on her urine output, platelet counts and hematocrit.
Hospitalisation would be required if ....
Urine out put is low and there are signs of dehydration
There is altered mental status
If there is constantly rising hematocrit and constant falling of platelets.
Carry on with DOLO and plenty of fluids and keep a watch.
Do get her tested for malaria also because the mosquito bite can transmit both dengue and malaria with one bite.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
