What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

Question: Hello, my mom had a MRI of the brain which due to loss of balance. The results show mild perventricular microvascular disease. Additionally it does a right temporal and parietal subdural hematoma (5mm). What causes this and how serious are these? Treatments? Thank you.

'Subdural hematoma' can definitely cause such symptoms, which may even worsen if the hematoma is not operated. Hematoma just means a collection of blood which can cause pressure effect on brain, thus resulting in damage to brain tissue.If operated in time, patient may recover well.

Mild periventricular microvascular disease, however, is of little significance and not the cause of these symptoms.
