What Does Presence Of Pus Cells In A Child's Stool Indicate?

Question: Hello doctor..
My son is 7 months old. He got admitted in hospital last week. Reason being in stool there was pus cell of 25. After 3 days pus cell comes to 4. Today once again it has raised to 7. Is it a matter of woorry pls advice. His weight is 7.70/KGS he is on mother feeding and little outside home made liquid food.

I do understand your concern.
I won't get worried for small increase in number of pus cells in stool if otherwise baby is improving.
I would suggest you to complete the antibiotic course if not completed yet.
Watch for loose stool, blood or mucus in stool or other abnormal symptoms and of you find any consult your pediatrician. Continue feeds as usual.
If baby remains symptom free please get a stool test done after 7 days.
