Brief Answer:
Analgesics and physiotherapy

Detailed Answer:
hi,

thanks for your question.

if you do not have any spinal cord or nerve root impingement / compression on your MRI scan there is no indication for surgical treatment.

the main stay of treatment for degenerative disc disease is analgesic medication, physiotherapy particularly focusing in core strengthening.

I hope this answers your question.

best wishes

I will re-read report. If I attempt any type of bending, sitting for over an hour, not able to move as in getting out of car. Analgesics put me to sleep. But then the pain
Is better. I was truly hoping for a surgical FIX. The pain changes my personality.
You don't even believe epidurals will provide relief? Thank you.. XXXXXXX
PS the grocery store is my worst enemy but haven't figured out a way to go without
Food! Puts me down for a day at least...

Brief Answer:
Epidurals not currently reccomended

Detailed Answer:
hi,

thanks for your follow up question. epidural injection of local anaesthetic and steroid have really fallen out of use for the management of chronic pain secondary to degenerative disc disease. 10 years ago this was a common practice. I would however encourage you to arrange to see a pain team, physician, physiotherapist, psychologist - for advice on ongoing management strategies for your back pain.

I hope this answers your question.

best wishes
