What Does My Semen Analysis Test Report Indicate?
Question: I did a semen test, and i attached the results i would like to see what do you guyz advise
Thanks,
Thanks,
Brief Answer:
Semen infection possible
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about semen liquefaction.
High liquefaction time of 10 hours is probably because of semen infection. Semen infection needs to be treated. This is also supported by WBC count which should not be seen.
Please get semen culture and sensitivity test done to identify the organism causing infection and the antibiotics it is responsive to.
This can be treated.
Fasting blood sugar needs to be checked to check if you have diabetes as high liquefaction is seen as a consequence.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
Regards

Thank you for your clarification Dr. XXXXXXX
I would like to mention also that I take Depakine chrono for 15 years now.
Back to the infection issue, does my wife need any exam for the same as well?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Your wife does not need evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for additional information.
Depakine chrono is known to be associated with abnormal semen parameters including delayed liquefaction.
I suggest you request your doctor to check if it is possible to change the medicine from depakine to another more semen friendly medication.
I don't think your wife needs any evaluation.
