What Does My Mammogram Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Feb 2016
Question: hello,
I was diagnosed "simple hyperplasia without atypia " and my gynocologyst prescribed duphaston. I used it for 4 months. While I was on duphaston I suffered from heavy cyctitis and urologyst suggested to stop using duphaston so I stopped duphaston. My symtoms reduced a bit but not completely over. They performed a cystoscopy and the result came "chronic cystitis". The was 2 monts ago. My gynecologist made an ultrasound and said the endometriun thickness is 4 mm in my 5.th day of my period and prescribed me a new drug named "progestan 100 mg".

At the same time my mamogram results mentions "BI-RADS 0 ,bening califications for my left breast while ultrasound result mentions BI-RADS 3, isoechoic solid lesion at retroareolar at the size of 3x7 mm for my left breast.

So, I consulted to a second gyn. and she suggested to stop using duphaston since I used it for 4 months. But my gyn. recommends to use progestan for 3 months more.
I'm confused. What should I do for the breast follow up? Should I use progestan?

Brief Answer:
Discontinue Duphastone, get treated for breast condition first

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Welcome to HCM,

I have read and analysed your situation.

You should discontinue the Duphaston and get evaluated for the breast condition first, it's more urgent and important.

The endometrial hyperplasia without atypia shouldn't worry you as it can not progress to cancer.

Simple hyperplasia is a benign condition. And you should not delay the breast treatment, which could be more serious.

Also get the chronic cystitis treated by an urologist.

Let me know if there's any further query.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

Hello,
Thank you,
I will stop using duphaston. What is the best way to treat the breast condition? They recommended to have an ultrasound in every 6 months. Should I request for a biopsy ?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
biopsy can be confirmatory

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The management of any breast condition a definite diagnosis is achieved by biopsy. So a biopsy can tell for sure what is wrong or whether it is a matter of concern.
Best to get a biopsy, and be reassured.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
