Brief Answer:
It could be due to certain acute conditions. Read below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Creatinine 1.43 is high but if this high value have come just once then it must be retested again with minimum 8 hours fasting blood sample.
Your serum cholesterol and LDL values are also high in your reports,so do you had any high blood pressure reading ever?
Do you take alcohol?
Normally, sudden serum creatinine level can rise because of dehydration, heavy exercises, lactic acidosis or alcohol abuse. This temporary and sudden rise of creatinine comes back to normal within 24 hours when underlying cause is eliminated or treated.
Creatinine value mainly depends on kidney blood supply, its drainage and general condition of kidney itself.
So, it would be better if you go for another serum creatinine test (only serum creatinine, not other parameters) and if the next reading also comes high then we can go for kidney evaluation.

Hi Doctor,

I took a blood test last year in Aug. My levels was 1.33 and eGFR of 79.
I do have to say. I do wear sweat suits and work out extremely on treadmill.
I also take protein supplements as well.

My blood pressure has always been normal for the most part. I have had occasional jumps, But 95% of the time. It's normal.

I just had my blood pressure checked about 2 weeks ago.
It was 108 / 75

Brief Answer:
exercises is the main concern.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for providing me further information.
So,it is clear now that your high normal creatinine is due to lactic acidosis as you are fond of exercises working on tread mill for hours causes lactate accumulation in muscle fibers leading to rise of acidic medium in blood.
Your protein supplements may not have any role in creatinine rise.
It is commonly seen in athelets, wrestlers, body builders who has well built muscles and has to work out hard even for hours for their professional purpose.
Creatinine is a normal byproduct of physical activity because of breakdown of creatine phosphate enzyme found in muscles. It means more muscle mass then there will be more breakdown of this enzymes leading to rise in creatinine level.
So,there is no need to do further investigations as this is completely normal in your case.

My only concerns is the decline in eGFR. I heard once it goes down. It can't go back up. Also, I have noticed that I have

1. Increased urination from time to time.
2. Bubbles in urine that disappears after a minute or so.
3. Urine is strong smelling.

Brief Answer:
GFR is sensitive and non-specific method.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
eGFR is a test used to check how well the kidneys are functioning by means of how much blood passes through glomeruli(filtering unit) each minute.
Nephrologists generally recommends GFR in persons having chronic kidney disease, frequent urinary tract infection, family history of kidney disease etc.
Its Normal value is 90 to 120 ml/min/1.73m2 but this value may vary slightly among different labs because of different methods used with different test samples to detect GFR.
Below 60 GFR for more than three 3 months might indicate chronic kidney disease.
With increasing age, this GFR tends to reduce because some glomerulus starts malfunctioning like ar the age 70 years,GFR value between 60 to 70 is also considered as a normal.
Now,if your creatinine and GFR both are in given range with bubbling of urine and smelly urine, then it could be due to dehydration, frequent and rapid urination, protenuria, hematuria,UTI,etc.
Overall, it might be cumulative of your age and your heavy workouts causing serum creatinine and eGFR in high normal and low normal range respectively. It is normal in your case who is otherwise heathy.
Still, you have doubt then you can consult nephrologist for further advise.

Brief Answer:
Consult nephrologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Sorry for late reply as I was very busy in medical seminar for whole day.
I have already gone through your blood investigations reports what you sent earlier.
Your serum cholesterolcholesterol and LDL cholesterol are slightly high, you can control them with diet. If total cholesteol goes beyond 250 then statin(hypolipidemic)drugs should be taken.
Your uric acid is slightly low and it could be normaly seen in people who is taking only vegetarian diet or gout or nephritis etc.
So,considering your eGFR,S.creatinine, uric acid and lymphocytes 53% you should go to nephrologist for check up to rule out any acute condition in kidney.
If everything comes normal then you can go for above investigations again after 1 month.
So,you consult your nephrologist to clear further doubts as rest of the things I have already cleared in my previous answers.
Thanks and Regards,

Answered by Dr. Sandip Kabra (17 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Better you go and get examined by nephrologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
No,I am not saying you should worry about this but that reports are not in the absolutely normal range. They may be either no absolute reason or may be some underlying growing condition.
If any single investigation slightly deviates from its normal then it can be considered clinically.
As i said you must clear remaining doubts by consulting nephrologist even if you are healthy otherwise having no clinical symptoms.
You are not in front of me so that I can ask you plenty of questions and conduct clinical examination to rule out suspected causes.I can only calculate possible causes on the basis of your given history and reports.
So,it would be better you go once and get checked. If your nephrologist says that all us well then you will be free from any doubt.
Thanks and Regards,

Brief Answer:
Viral infection causes rise in lymphocytes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you had diagnosed by Mononucleosis by EB virus years back then can you tell me what is the present status?
This viral infection can cause rise in lymphocytes count in blood but has no relation with your other kidney function tests.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
EB virus repeate examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Even after treatment EB virus, it remains in blood causing carrier state means one is having EB virus infected then he can spread his virus among others through his saliva over cups or sharing toothbruths or by kiss.
You can go for serological markers ( heterophile antibody test)with IgG
(indicates old infection) or IgM (for recent infection).
