Posted on Fri, 7 Apr 2017
Question: Hi Doc,

Before 1.5 years i had a forceful ejaculation, at that time had no pain. After two days, had haematospermia. After that incident had slight pain while and after ejaculating till now. But haven't told the doctor about forceful ejaculation, told him as Haematospermia. Ultrasound report came normal.

But now the pain had worsened after ejaculating, went again to the Doctor. He said Prostatitis and recommended for a CT scan.

But i doubt whether anyother glands would have been damaged due to this like Bulbourethral gland, Cowpers gland, vas deferens, seminal vesicles or any other reproductive organ or path is injured or infected.

Pls guide me whether the procedure is right

Thanks and Regards

Brief Answer:
CT scan pelvis is enough to identify damage any of the pelvic structures

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

CT scan of pelvis is good procedure with high resolution and it is possible that it can make out subtle details of almost every structures located in the pelvis. Although considering the soft tissue damage MRI pelvis is better option but when the resources are scarce CT scan pelvis can be considered best procedure.

In case any abnormality is found on CT scan the tissue/organ in question can be subjected for further testing as per the requirement.

I mean to say that your doctor is taking right approach to locate any tissue damage in pelvis by ordering CT scan pelvis.

I hope this assists you.
