Question: Hi,
My question is,is my gestational sac size is small to see yolk sac;
GS size is 9*4 mm I think it's mean size diameter is 9+4/2=6,5 mm...I read it should be min 8 mm MSD to see yolk sac...My LMP was 03.07.2014 my cycle length average is 30-31 days ,I did ovulation test last month and the conception should be between 20-22.07.2014..

Brief Answer:
normal wait for ten days

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is suggestive of growing pregnancy but at a slower pace.
All you need right now is to wait for another ten days so that sac diameter increases beyond 12 mm so as to see the yolk sac and this a viable pregnancy.
It can be due to delayed conception.
Till then keep taking your medicine on time.
All the best.

Brief Answer:
ultrasound after 10 days

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, I'm greatly impressed with your insight of situation so would love to elaborate on this in the best possible way I can.
By your period date you are 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and once egg is released from ovary (giving you positive ovulation test) it may take another day to get fertilised and then it takes 5-7 days for implantation to take place inside the uterine cavity.
This variable time depends on length of tube and thickness of endometrium at the time of implantation.
I'm an infertility specialist so I deal with conception issues very often and ovulation study and endometrial health is my area of research also.
Yolk sac is usually seen around 7-8 weeks of gestation so best will be to have an ultrasound at 8 weeks so that we can confirm the exact status of pregnancy.
It can be a protracted growth or delayed conception but possibility of missed abortion is always there in alk such pregnancis so not giving you false hopes.
But good point in your case is that ultrasound shows a sac which is very regular and endometrium looks healthy so let's keep our fingers crossed.
Take care.
