What Does A Lump On Clitoris Indicate?
Question: I am married and haven't had sex in over a year and while showering 2 days ago I discovered a marble sized knot on my clitoris hood. I know it's not having to do with the barthalen glands because my daughter finally had to have the entire gland removed,over a year ago, after many drain tube fails. Should I worry to much about this now or wait a while?

1. Folliculitis - due to an infected hair follicle. Usually has pus inside and needs an antibiotic and anti inflammatory drug for treatment.
2. Sebaceous cyst- due to a blocked sebaceous gland. The secretions start collecting inside and becomes painful. Needs to be surgically removed if infected.
3. Genital warts- due to a viral infection. Some of the simple tests carried out by your gynaecologist will confirm the diagnosis.
A thorough examination is a must for proper diagnosis and treatment.
If it is not increasing in size or is not painful then there is no need to worry. You can wait for a week and see if it softens.
Till then you can take general cleanliness measures to avoid any infection in that area.
