What Do Pain During Urination And Foul Odour In Urine Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 25 Nov 2016
Question: Okay, so I started to notice that my urine would have a strong meat or pickled egg smell. Sometimes it would hurt to ultimate, but I would drink more water then be fine. After a few days of noticing the smell I started my period. While I was on my menstrual cycle the smell wasn't there. I just got off of it yesterday and now my urine has that smell again, I thought I could have had a yeast infection, but I don't think that's the case. What should I do?

1) Do you have other urinary symptoms like burning urination ,frequency for urination etc.

Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water .To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

No it doesn't hurt to urinate, and I don't have the frequent urge to urinate either.

That's why I didn't think it was a UTI and that it was a yeast infection instead, but nothing hurts. My urine just smells weird and it's never been like that before.

Brief Answer:
Could be due to concentrated urine

Detailed Answer:
hello
Thanks for feedback .
The strong smell of urine could be due to dehydration and urine being concentrated .

Get routine urine test done to detect presence of pus cells and take the decision regarding urine culture .

In the mean while take Nitrofurantoin and urine alkalizer twice daily .

Ensure to drink more water to keep your urine dilute .

It is unlikely to be yest infection as genital Yeast infection is always associated with itching in genital area.
