What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?

Question: Hi i just make a test effort , apparently everything was ok but i just would like to have some details about my results especially about my blood pressure to know if its normal...

i have done XXXXXXX test
During rest i was 113 HR ( stress a bit ) and 125/74 BP
Stage 2 133 138/85
Stage 2 3:00 135 152/84
Then i have been to stage 4 with a heart rate at 183
after during recovery after 2 min i was 133 hr and 196/81
then after 4 min i was 108 hr and 204/73

My blood pressusre come back to 140/84 after 10 min sitting

Is everything ok and i can start exercice again?

Yes, these are normal levels, both due to physical and psychological stress. This is called "normal blood pressure response to the exercise". Adding that you are young, it is all normal. During physical activity, heart and arteries are engaged to "feed" the needs of the periphery to cope with the activity, hence the blood pressure is adjusted (raised) so this process can be completed. It is also normal that in the first few minutes of the recovery stage, blood pressure is high because the organism is still compensating for the physical stress it was put onto.

As for the heart rate, it is also normal to spike within the levels you just provided. Actually, there is a formula for this: (220-age) which means, in your case, if we stick strictly to this formula, a heart rate of 180-190 beats per minute when exercising, is considered normal. My recommendation to you is to continue exercising as your body is responding normally to the physical stress. If you have psychological stress, my opinion is that you should address your concerns to a clinical psychologist, should this stress affect on your quality of life, work, or everyday duties.

I was just bit worry about my blood pressure but if you say me everything is fine its make me confident...im really trying to work on my psychologic aspect but i needed to be confident about my health first thats why i have done that EST in order to delete all my cardiac ideas as coronary disease or things like this...one thing is i still got that pain in my chest its mostly near my both shoulders but maybe it can come from nerves or things like this...about my psychology i really try to work on myself, i think medicine doesnt help me that much i have tried Diazepam but except put me out of reality and some headaches i dont feel the real benefits of that medicine , only in case of emergency zhen i feel really bad its help me to relax...i have tried to see a psychologist but excpet trying to find issue in my past like love of my parents, problem with older brother they dont help me...i had a good childhood and i was really happy when young, im just anxious by nature i guess and i need to try the way to calm myself alone which is not that easy but possible...just for tell you 2 days before i make my exam doctor stop me atenolol , and even i take small daily dose (12,5mg) per day i arrive at the hospital for make my stress exam in total panic i was at 160 bpm at rest...Cardiologist need to give me my daily dose of atenolol in order to can start to stress test because he told me he cannot have good result if im too fast at the beginning..so he has given my atenolol and then 30 min later when i was back to 90 we start the EST...That doctor i have seen was not really concerned about my psychology , in a way i can understand i live in thailand and im french and maybe they not have the same vision of things than occidental people i dont know but for my physiologic aspect i think he have checked everything properly for him i dont need other exam he told me i have good condition for my age and at 70 percent sure no blockage in vessel cause my body answer good as you told me...if you have time of course maybe you could give me an email adress i could send you my details result and only when you have time for sure just give me your opinion.By the way thank you so much for your answer i really appreciate your opinion , its not the first time i hear from youand all the time its help me to advance more and more.Thank you so much

Hi again. Welcome back.

I remember the first time we discussed about your problem, maybe two weeks ago. I specifically remember that you had done an EKG, Echo and Holter rhythm monitor, which were normal, adding to the last feed where also your cardiac stress tesr was normal with normal blood pressure and heart rate responses. My firm opinion is that you have nothing to worry about the heart part of your complaints. It is purely a response to stress/anxiety/panic attacks. During these attacks, adrenalin is released in the circulation, and high heart rate and blood pressure are always expected when this phenomenon occurs. I recommend you to see a psychiatrist, if this is affecting your life so much. Diazepam is not the only benzodiazepine used. Actually, I am not a psychiatrist, but a combination of one benzodiazepine with an anti-psychotic drug for a short term has been proven to be effective in these cases. You are young and life is out there. I would recommend you to have a proper physical activity outdoors, like walking or jogging in nature and really try to avoid situations or places that make you uncomfortable, since they may trigger your anxiety (narrow passages, elevators, crowded places, whichever makes you anxious). About the reports, you can post them here, on my name, and we can also discuss them, although, frankly, I understand your situation even without them. If it helps to you, I would not hesitate to take a look at them.
