Question: Hi,
I was suffering from fever and treatment was running, that time my SGOT/SGPT was Normal within range, after 3 days SGOT/SGPT increased to 42.2/46. and during my second visit to my primary physician it was 90.7/83.4 and next day 106/107. I got admitted, and done below test :
CBC/ESR -Normal
HCV-Total Ab to Hepatitic C Virus - Negative
HBsAg : Non reactive
Dengue : Negative
Malaria : Negative
Ultrsonography of whole ABD: All normal in Size.
after few days, my SGOT/SGPT was 218/223.8, after few more days of treatment, SGOT came down to 143.5 but SGPT 259.3.
Now i got discharged from hospital taking medicine Reheptic, Urosol 300 Broclear and RelacX syrup.
My Question here, when this SGOT/SGPT will come to normal range, Is it normal based on above details?

Brief Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX .
Welcome to HCM

Thank you for your query
I understand your concern

Possibly you had viral fever which has caused mild elevated SGOT and SGPT .

Some times even mild form of viral hepatitis A or E can cause such mild elevated liver enzymes.

However since you have no fever now and the liver enzymes are normalizing not much to worry or investigated.

Hopefully your liver functions could normalize by two weeks.

This is quite a common situation during viral fevers too.
So not much to worry.

Hope this answers your query

Wish you a speedy recovery

Brief Answer:
stop alcohol in all forms.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for your query
Well you need to stop alcohol in all forms till your liver function normalize completely.
Also avoid alcohol as far as possible.
It is good for liver.
However it's not that you will have to stop absolutely in future
