Question:
Hi

What causes a tight lower arm feeling? There is no pain or breathing issue. Recently i have been getting upper chest twitches/bubbles but GP has ruled any heart issue out?

Brief Answer:
Needs assessment, No worries though

Detailed Answer:

Thank you for asking at ehealthforum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. Tightness in arms and chest with bubbly sensations are considered for cardiac profile first but your age of 27 and already clear signal by the GP rule that out.

Other possibilities for such presentation is anxiety, gastric discomfort like burping due to GERD, musculoskeletal reasons like muscle spasm or twitches due to recent activity like work out or any other exercise. A poor posture during sleep or lying down on a couch or a chair watching a movie could explain that too.

The two basic symptoms of air hunger or pain is not there. so i would say its nothing to worry about but needs a little digging. As at young age, a person is not friendly in diet and lifestyle . if overweight lose weight. Avoid sweets and chocolates, spices and stimulants of any kind like soda, beverage, beer , tea etc. Make a routine healthy enough and follow it regularly. Exercise and eat balanced diet.

If the symptoms persist you will be evaluated for other differentials i mentioned above. But right now i believe it can wait and see if the conservative approach helps.

I hope it helps. stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and can not be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.

Thanks after 10-15 minutes the tightness finished and i felt perfect. In the morning i was laying down i felt a spasm in centre of chest then i went by stomach no pain at all or any other symptom. It was like hiccup style

Brief Answer:
Sounds Like GERD

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me!

With hiccups involved , it looks more likely a stomach discomfort to me as i mentioned GERD earlier as irritation of stomach and esophagus junction by reflux causes hiccups.

You should focus on diet and lifestyle, lose weight, no chocolate or sweets or potatoes tomatoes and sauces spices etc. Small frequent meals and minimum of 2 hours gap between eating and lying down and keeping the head side of the bed at least 8 inches higher than the leg side.

15 minutes resolution may mean its an early stage of GERD and easily manageable . It may be mere anxiety but that wont explain hiccups.

Seek your doctor for further management.
