What Causes Traces Of Blood In Urine Disptick Test?
Question: I been complaining about bubbling urune, high blood pressure. I'm not on treatment for hbp. My doctor check my kidneys . Blood and urine at lab wAs normal. Kidney ultrasound and cystoscopy normal. Bun 13, efgr 104, creatine serum 1.10. Urine : blood negative, protein negative, WBC negative everythng normal. Yet dip stick shows trace of blood 3 times. Did microscopic urine and it found dysmorphic cells all urine values normal and no blood. Dysmorphic/isomorphic 10. Cell degeneration. If all other tests are normal what does this mean

We have recently moved away from urine disptick as an accurate measure for blood in the urine. The reason is there is a high probability of false positive results. The true test is urine microscopy which found no blood. The dysmorphic cells are usually cells of the bladder lining that shed from time to time.
I would worry about blood in the urine as the true test for that was negative. Urine dipstick in inaccurate and should not be used.

Why did the lab label it as very mild glomeur disease. The lab didnt no of my other tests: ultrasound, cystocosoy, and kidney function vlood work being all normal. Does the other test being normal dismiss mild glomuer disease? Would the other tests i took have shown mild glomeur dusease if i had that? Finally how can i have blood negative result and dysmorphic cells at the sametine

What is reassuring is that intact blood cells are negative. The other tests being normal is great, but does not dismiss the dysmorphic cells. When we see this we typically treat high blood pressure with an ace inhibitor medicine and repeat the urine test in 3 months to see if the presence of dysmorphic cells are there.
