Question: my son is 20 we went to the Dr. for left arm pain, that would tingle or numb, trouble breathing, almost like an allergy or panic attack. As well as the lymphnod on the back of his neck (rt side) being amazingly swollen. They took blood (nurse practioner) and prescribed doxycline hyclate 100 mg cap twice day and wanted follow up two weeks.. lymphnode still swollen not as visual and they lymphnode in collar bone area on left side swollen ..sent for more blood work ..then she consulted w/physician we have been waiting to see and they took more blood and tested for mono. They said which tested positive and to rest. this all started in the beginning of XXXXXXX He did eventually see the Dr. March 12 (when she was available) and she sent him for ultra sound of lymphnodes and spleen .. said spleen slightly swollen, lymphnodes still swollen, again not a dramatically as before. She referred us to a board of hematologists here where we live whom advised us that they were advising her to have us go through a biopsy and then see what we are dealing w/ prior to seeing them in late April. As of this date the Dr. advised my son that she would have treated him w / a stronger anti biotic rather than what her nurse practioner did.. this wasn't very reassuring. And as of yet hasn't notified us of exactly what we are looking for w/ the hematologists or given any reassurance of much of anything. The hematologist office was pleasant and did advise the best thing now would be that the results of a biopsy will provide nothing more than an infection to be treated and that then they wouldn't be needed however sch. a tentative appt. for the time being.. we have yet to be sch. for the biopsy and are wondering why blood test wouldn't have show infection. However last night sitting w/friend s playing cards. He said he experienced tingling in the left arm again and light headed. A friend took blood pressure on a phone ap >is that even accurate? and said it was extremely low.. he ate not a lot but pizza and was drinking a mountain dew/ lord would have thought would make it high blood pressure? and re took pressure said came back up.. I have the blood results can send you as well.. just any bit of a second opinion you can provide would help am very worried and feel like too much time is lapsing awaiting a true diagnoses XXXXXXX

Brief Answer: We will consider a new dimention. Detailed Answer: Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum So long he was been searched for a somatic causes. Allergy usually is a generalized, and may be at least to the majority of the body. I suppose the problem is with orthopedics, may be the cervical spine. It is intermittent, and not being solved. I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon. He may need to have an M.R.I, and biopsy of the lymph node etc for diagnosis. Probable diagnosis may be the cervical spondylosis,or pressure symptoms on the cervical sensitive nerves due to the lymph node.most important may be the viral infection at the base if the nerves due to herpes simplex. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days, and then periodically. omeprazole, domperidone, and paracetamol when ever necessary. Acyclovir, if diagnosis is established. I have treated the same, with positive results in many such intermittent pain cases. Unsafe sex and resulting diseases may not have any such symptoms.Ear infection, and and tube problems may not have to do any thing with the present problem. Respiratory disease pneumonia was present in the child hood, but at present there is no respiratory symptoms, so can be excluded, unless there is cough. wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
