What Causes Temporary Numbness In Genital Region After Sitting For Long Hours?
Question: Dear Doctor,
I am bit worried for couple of days and required your view for that. I do have long sitting hours job for normal week days. For couple of days I observed that my skin above penis slip over it and leads in numbness on private parts.
I don't know which kind of specialist and what kind of precautions to follow. Request you to suggest on that.
Is it case which may require circumcision? Required you sincere suggestion for that as those doubts really worried me a lot.

1. Sitting for long hours in the job can cause temporary numbness in the genital region. This is not a serious problem. The area is supplied by the pudendal nerve and sometimes there is pinching of the nerve causing numbness. It does not require circumcision.
2. One of the solutions for it is to stand up every hour for about a minute and two and then sitting to continue with your job.
3. The slipping over the penis foreskin can be from the cold weather and not a problem. However if in doubt then please consult the urologist who is an expert in problems with the penis.
