Question: Hello, I've had one swollen tonsil and lymph node on the left side of my throat for about four months now I have been to a doctor and was put on a anti biotic it helped some but now it is swollen and hurting again. It's also affecting my ear I feel pain in my ear canal

Thanks for query.

I have read your query & understand your concern.

After reading your clinical history & it appears that you are having chronic URTI ( upper respiratory tract infection ) .

It is common to have one tonsil bigger than other with inflammatory lymph node swelling.

Ear pain is because of refer pain from throat.

If I were your treating doctor , i would advice
Continue antibiotic ,
Use antiinflammatory tablet like ibuprofen twice daily ,
antihistamine tablet at night and
antiseptic mouth gargle like betadin .

You will get relief .
Consider tonsil removal if problem become recurrent .
