What Causes Sudden Onset Of Severe Knee Pain?
Question: My wife is having severe pain in her Knees since last 4-5 days. Initially she was having urine infection for which she took medication and from next day the knee pain started. We showed the gynec today but she said that it was not happening because of the medicines.
Can you advice reason why this is happening and what needs to be done. She is going through pain when she is folding her legs.

the drug is known to cause tendon and cartilage inflammation in rare cases.
Though I cannot tell for sure that it is a sideeffect of the drug as she may have general malaise due to fever and infection , the sudden onset and severe pain indicates that it is knee joint/ tendons inflammation due to Levofloxacin
Please stop the drug and visit a orthopedic surgeon.
Meanwhile paracetamol 650 mg twice a day and warm compresses will keep the pain in control.

Thanks, should I replace it with some other tablet, pls advice.
She is not having any fever since day 1. After starting the said medicines the pain caused by urine infection disappeared from day 2.

If your wife had completed 5 days of therapy then there is no need for any replacement as the urine infection will be treated.
The amoxicillin is a good drug for urine infection.
As it's a penicillin group of drug some patients may have allergic reaction.
