Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Would you mind telling me a few details.
Why were you on the pill at 53 ?
Was it purely for birth control, or any other indication ?
Did you have regular periods earlier and while on birth control ?
Have you ever had such spotting on and off earlier ?
Any other symptom of peri menopause / menopause ?
Spotting as such is not normal, but it could be mild hormonal imbalance arising from peri menopause, or something else ( polyp, cervical lesion etc ).
Once you give me more details, I will then get back to you with more inputs.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

i was on the pill for birth control only. I had regular periods up until I went off of the pill at the end of XXXXXXX After that I did not have any periods for about 2 months , and then I started spotting off and on about 2 weeks ago. I haven't really ever had any spotting in between my periods. I have been having night sweats off and on for a few years and have had a couple of hot flashes in the past few years as well as some anxiety and weight gain.
