What Causes Sore Throat, Difficulty Swallowing And Ear Pain?
Question: could I have tonsilities? I have a sore throat with pain while swallowing and some minor ear pain. I have attached a picture

1. From thd image, this seems to be an acute pharyngitis. The entire throat, soft palate and tonsils are are red and inflamed.
2. If there is fever, antibiotics should be started. Most cases are viral, hence treatment is supportive. This includes anti inflammatory, anti allergic medication and medicated oral rinses
3. Get a throat swab and routine blood tests done if this persists more ghan 48-72 hours in spite of medication.
4. With adequate rest, warm fluids and medication, most cases settle down.
