What Causes Sore Throat And Ear Pain After Protected Sex?
Question: Hi doctor i have been to thailand in 2012 but when iwas traveling to thailand i got some pain in my ears and same happened when iwas returning from there i had protected sex too.But very next day coming back from there i got sore throat its like something stuck in my throat and also blocked ears and nasal congestion i had been treated with antibiotics but my situation becomes worst and after that i was treated with zyrtec and some nasal spray and some how in 6-7 months i get rid of frustrated throat problem and i moved to canada but after that i start feeling disturb stomach in night and blocked nose same in morning and blocked ears now this is continous from almost 8-9 month m fed up of all these???Are these symptoms of hiv? or some sinus issue mostly m distrbed in nights or m taking rest ...otherwise when i m active everything looks normal ...

Earliest HIV manifestation can occur only 4-6 weeks after the possible infection. If you had your sore throat and ear pain earlier than 4 weeks, it could not be due to HIV (Primary or acute infection).
Sore throat and associated ear pain is a common problem for anybody through an ordinary bacterial or viral infection. Another rare possibility was a throat infection due to STD causes (Gonorrhea or Chlamydia), if you had unprotected oral sex. If it was not treated adequately or if you have sinusitis you may likely to have a repeated throat infection.
A swab taken from throat and culture and sensitivity for non-specific and gonococcal organism and a PCR test for Chlamydia can reveal the exact etiology and treatment can be planned accordingly.
If you have a blood test for HIV, it can rule out the possibility of HIV in you. Recurrent sore throat in HIV can take years to manifest (after the considerable amount of immune deficiency, say 5-7 years). So it is unlikely to be due to HIV.

So if i will go through STD panel check up can i know about these disease ??

STD panel, especially tests for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia will either confirm or rule out these possibilities.
Likewise a test for HIV also has also been suggested (As you had unprotected exposures with strangers). A negative test will relieve unnecessary tension in you.
