Question: I have had crampy, dull, sometimes sharp discomfort in my middle to lower back on the right side and on the lower abdominal for a few days to a week now, both are also tender. My urine output is the same as it has been with no burning and I just had bloodwork done in September and is as followed
RENAL all were optimal on the reference ranges provided by the labs
Cystaitin C was optimal - 0.73
eGFR was optimal - 142
Creatinine serum was also optimal - 0.8
BUN was also optimal - 13
and Bilirubin was optimal - 0.4

I have no fever, just the pressure and slight pain I Have no jaundice and have not been nuaseated.
I do feel like I indigestion sometimes after eating.
Sometimes heat helps the pain but does not eliminate it. I do workout and have been lifting heavy weights for a while and my job also calls me to bend over and lift heavy weights casuing me a lot of stress in my lower to mid back area

I do have cipro and my wife has a slight UTI

Brief Answer:
Spinal disc hernation to determine by MRI....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

The pain you are describing might be due to spinal disc herniation. I advise to consult with your doctor and to run MRI to rule it out.

I need to also know if you are also having changes in bowel movements?

Meanwhile, I advise to:
- avoid lifting heavy weights
- take OTC pain killers
- apply warm compresses and analgesic cream locally
- take probiotics to normalize intestinal flora as you have started to take cipro which is an antibiotic and will alter your intestinal flora

Hope it was of help!

Brief Answer:
Please follow the suggestions below..

Detailed Answer:
Hi, back

With regards to your pain after eating it may be related with :
stomach issues like gastritis/ ulcer
gallbladder problems like sludge.
So if I were your treating doctor I would reccommend to do
-abdominal ultrasound
-upper endoacopy

With regards to your liver pannel if they are in normal level now you don't need to do liver detoxification .

For the moment you can start to use
omeprazole and antacides.
You are reporting that if you hold for a long time urine you have back pain, this hapens from tenderness of urinary tract ( bladder, ureters, kidney) and muscle spasms that control urination. These are percepted as back pain from you.
wish you health

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Yes, it is normal to feel tenderness when holding the urine. Try to go to bathroom each time you feel the need, do not hold urine as it will aggravate or trigger UTI.

All the best!
