Question: My 33 year old daughter has been experiencing a number of symptoms for quite some time. They range from severe, frequent migraines since her teen years, she was diagnosed with H Pilori a few months ago, has had allergic reactions to various antibiotics. Her fatigue is severe, she is overweight and her appearance has changed. For many months now her neck, face and eyes are swollen. Any suggestions as to what could be the cause or affliction? She is miserable.

Brief Answer:
Migraine needs management and losing weight needs commitment.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. H pylori eradication is easy with just 10 to 14 days of antibiotics therapy which is already achieved. The issue now of weight gain and migraine needs to be fixed.

As you should know once a migraineur is always a migraineur, there is no treatment for it like rest of the 90 % of medical illnesses. We only manage it. Avoiding triggers, keeping migraine diary, prompt treatment of migraine with in 15 minutes of its initiation or before that by assessing and knowing ones prodromal or aural phase. Prophylaxis measures . Consider fravitriptans for prophylaxis as those are helpful in women specially migraineurs worsened by menses.

With weight gain, there is no magic wand, its the imbalance of caloric intake and consumption . Sedentary lifestyle or overeating causes it. Reduce calories intake to 2000 to 2500 k cal a day and no more. Exercise more. Sign up to an FDA approved weight loss program. Avoid these cheap publicity stunts promoted all over the internet for weight loss. Slow and steady natural weight loss is only solution.

I hope it helps. Take good care of your daughter and yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
