What Causes Redness In Left Eyes After Sneezing?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: Hi, Okay....9 days ago I sneezed and the whites of my left eye became Red. It's been 9 days and the red has not gone away. Also, back on Sunday I went swimming for a bit and when I was done swimming the eye got a bit redder...perhaps from the chlorine. My eye does not hurt and I can see fine out of it. Was wondering what I could do or take from the drug store or possibly a home remedy to make the red in my eye go away.

Brief Answer:
Subconjunctival hemorrhage.

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
This apparently is a subconjunctival hemorrhage which will go away on its own in about 2weeks time. You would notice that redness is started clearing from outside.
Other reasons of redness would be inflammation which is painful.A photograph could have confirmed the issue.
Since hemorrhage resolves on its own,no treatment is needed.Otherwise visine is excellent.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
