What Causes Red Raw And Cracked Skin Between Inner Thigh And Scrotum?

Posted on Tue, 15 Dec 2015
Question: Last month, I had red raw and cracked skin between my inner thigh and scrotum. It healed after a few days with gold bond medicated ointment.

Two days ago, it returned and now my testicles are red and burning, which did not happen before. I am married and did receive oral sex by a stranger last month.

Does what I have sound like herpes? I can provide a picture

Brief Answer:
not likely to be herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It would be helpful to see photo, but from this explanation it doesnt sound like herpes. Herpes would manifets with more than just one lesion and usually closer to penis, although it cant be ruled out for sure. It may have been injury during the intercourse or irritation, or it can be fungal or bacterial infection, folicultiis etc.
Try to post a photo. Wish you good health. Regards

Inshould also add that i some burning in my buttocks and ankles too. Their is a family history of eczema and ive had skin irritation since moving intona home with forced air heat.

Also, my pants have been tighter and the irritation occurs where the elastic bands of my boxer briefs are. My left side is the one ceacked while the right is irrtiatwd but not cracked. There are dark skin marks from where it occured last time.

Here are the skin folds between my inner thigh and scrotum on left side:

And the right side:

And my testicles:

And here is red raw skin on my penis:

And another pic of inner left thigh. I have to pull my testicles in order to see the irritated skin, whixh might be why my testicles are irritated. Soes any of this appear to be herpes? I have never had a fever or stomach discomfort. I do not see blisters. I do not itch.

Brief Answer:
possible herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Well, this is bit more complex then I thought from your first explanation. It may be eczema due to irritation or allergy but herpes must be rule out as well as other STDs since eczema should not leave such marks and should be limited just to superficial part of the skin .

Also, some other dermatological diseases should be ruled out and certain tests or biopsy should be performed. Also, you should sustain from sexual intercourse till signs persist.

Wish you good health.

Could this be jock itch? I have used jock itch cram and spray and the burning has stopped for the most part.
