Posted on Fri, 14 Nov 2014
Question: I have had pressure moving from top of head to left side to bottom of head for 2 months , feels muscles are pulling down ,like a XXXXXXX is on top of head and swelling feeling . It feels like my head is bouncing and the pressure is hitting a nerve. Iam having a cat scan soon could this be sinus problems or something else. It's so annoying because I can't focus with this feeling in my head? And how long does nefazodone take to work

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern.

The headache you described could be a related to sinusitis. Other causes also need to be ruled out. Please get your blood pressure and if any focal neurologic deficits develop, rush to an E.R immediately. Migraine can typically result in similar ways and can be treated accordingly.

You can take Tylenol with naproxen sodium or Sumatriptan plus naproxen (in acute migraine headaches, if no contraindication) and metoclopramide for the headache empirically, in consult with your doctor. If its sinusitis , antibiotics and anti histamines plus Fluticasone nasal sprays would be prescribed.

Nefazodone should start its effect within two weeks, for full effect atleast 6 to 8 weeks are required.
