Posted on Wed, 28 Jun 2017
Question: When I have been getting out of my car and I go into a store, when I get inside the store I feel like pressure in my head and my ears start ringing and it feels like I am going to pass out. This happens ocasionally lately, then it goes away after I feel the pressure and the ringing in my ears and like I am about to pass out. This only seems to happen when I leave my car and go into a store. Thanks for any insight.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I passed carefully through your concern and would like to explain that your clinical symptomatology seems to be related to some degree of adverse autonomic reaction,; orthostatic intolerance.

At those moments of ears ringing, weakness and passing out feeling it is important to check your blood pressure values and heart rate.

In addition, I recommend you consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination and some medical tests like the following:

- complete blood count
- thyroid hormone levels
- blood electrolytes level
- resting ECG
- ambulatory cardiac rhythm monitoring
- cardiac ultrasound
- Tilt testing
- fasting blood glucose level

You need to discuss with your doctor on the above mentioned issues.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

Feel free to ask me again whenever you need!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
