Brief Answer: Either antidepressant or methyphenidate Detailed Answer: HI Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query. There are number of reasons for poor concentration like underline depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder or stress. If you have underline depression, stress or anxiety, then take antidepressant like paroxetine. That would help you to improve concentration, but it would take time. If you have attention deficit disorder (ADD), in that case, you need methylphenidate. ADD usually happens since childhood and if you have attention problem, since childhood, you can try methylphenidate. I think, you should consult a psychiatrist for proper diagnosis and treatment. These drugs are not available over the counter. You need a prescription for them, so consult a psychiatrist. In case, you need further help, you can ask. Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist

Brief Answer: It would take 10 to 14 days Detailed Answer: Hi It is antidepressant and has elimimation half life of 17 to 24 hours. It would take 4 to 5 days to get blood level and around 10 to 14 days to show response. Better to use its control release preparation, it would help to control anxiety symptoms or depressive symptoms in better way. If you were my patient, you would start from 12.5mg per day. Better to consult a physician or psychiatrist for prescription. In case, you have more query, you can ask. Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist
