What Causes Persistent Neck Pain Despite Taking Medication?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Jan 2017
Question: 8 yrs 10/325 perc + 4 =400mg Neurontin ( c-5 c-7 fusion)--still lots of bad days. PM doc retired. New Pm doc changed me to fentanyl. That's about the craziest stuff. 3 days and then removed. NOT for me. New doc will not continue old regiment even though it has worked over the last 8 yrs.New doc then change

On my first visit I tried to be clear that the perc / neur combination( after 8 yrs) was AFTER several other meds that did not seem to help. doc responded that "if I (you) were looking for pills that I would have to go elsewhere. When in fact my point was that this was the combo that seemed to work. After the first few yrs of experimenting. new doc has now changed to Butran. Sucks too.

Brief Answer:
Go for what works best for you

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the query.

I have gone through your question and medical history in detail.

Its good to hear from you that you prefer medicines over surgery and i think this is the right approach.

As far as 10/325 perc + 4 =400mg Neurontin is concerned, i feel you are the best judge about what works for you and what does not.

I am sorry ,but there should have been a good co-ordination between the doctors that have been treating you and they should have prescribed you the medicine that works best for you.As simple as that.

I feel you should try and convince the new doctor to get you back on your old regimen.

Kind regards and all the best.

Thank you.
