What Causes Paper Like Cuts In Vaginal Area Along With Discharge And Peeling?

Posted on Tue, 22 Mar 2016
Question: For about a year now I get these paper like cuts in my vaginal area. For the past 6 months these cuts have been shedding, the skin just peels away when I wipe. I have tried changing soaps, razors, etc., and nothing has worked. I wear cotton underwear,
I'm not heavy set, and my pants are all baggy in that area. i tried using Monostat, but it didn't work. I am also I a high dose of two antibiotics for for a stomach illness, and these haven't helped either.
Do you have any clue what could be wrong with me?

Brief Answer:
vaginitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
Vaginal mucous cuts are usually indicative of vaginitis which can be due to bacterial or fungal infection. You need to get a high vaginal swab culture done to isolate the causative organism and accordingly antibiotics would be decided for vaginal use or oral use.
This can be bacterial vaginosis concomitantly which can be confirmed with demonstration of clue cells in smear culture. It can be treated easily but you have to avoid interocurse during the treatment completely. If there is a recurrence then you should get your partner also examined.
