What Causes Pain In The Neck Radiating To The Back And Shoulder?

Question: yesterday i had strong pain on the right side of my neck and radiating down my back to the shoulder.
today not so much but now there is swelling in the right gland and pain in the jaw and swallowing.
could this be strep? ive never had it before
