Question: I had my left hip replaced last May 2015 and two tarlov cysts removed on my sacrum in July 2015. I am wondering what the pain is contributed to that I feel in my left buttocks center, deep. My legs feel sore (tight muscles) often and I still walk with a gimp in my left leg.

Hi! Welcome to health care magic!

First of all, it is sad to know about what you had gone through. Based on the history you have shared, since it was pretty extensive surgery that you have mentioned, so though the wound healing occurs with in months but complete formation of bone may take 3-9 months depending upon mutiple factors. Also that the muscles which have been manipulated during surgical approach to reach bone may have been lead to some torn muscle fibres. Since every movement which we do around a joint is contributed by a group of muscles which move in a harmony to let different range if movements possible. It may take some time to readjust according to new implant and muscle groups may get there range of movements reassigned. One approach which can be helpful is regular follow up with a physiotherapist to a sign different exercises which can be helpful to minimise the deformity and functional impairment which you are facing. This can be done once after careful follow up with the treating or primary surgeon to review you in detail for any complication relating to surgery or any unexpected surgical outcome but hopefully that will not be the case. Meanwhile keep using the drugs you have mentioned.
