What Causes Pain And Swelling In Knee, Wrist And Ankle?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Jun 2015
Question: I have a swollen knee which I have had since Thursday however now the whole leg going towards the ankle is swollen as well. The pain is horrible. Also my left wrist has a small swelling and that is now affecting opening the hand without awful pain. I have tried ibuprofen voltarol and also rubbin the gels in but there has been no response. Elevating the leg has made no differance, and I have now forgotten what sleep is like because it just throbs. |I have also tried alternating heat and ice, Nothing seems to be helping.

Brief Answer:
You are having arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you are having multiple joint arthritis. In this condition simple pain killer is not going to help. I would recommend you to get following blood tests.
1.ESR, CRP and Ra factor
If these tests are positive then you need to take following treatment after discussing with your doctors.
1.HCQ twice daily.
2.Methotrxate once in a week.
3.Tablet Saaz one daily.
If pain is not control then steroids can also be taken in low dose.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
