Brief Answer:
Scalp psoriasis/Cranial arteritis are possibilities to be excluded

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I understand your concern. The symptoms you described almost matches scalp psoriasis and it can happen in other parts of body too. Since I did not see your scalp's skin condition, it is hard to confirm it. Oil or scalp conditioning would not help since it is not a superficial skin disease.

Second probability could be Cranial arteritis. In this patient feels continuous soreness on the scalp, which could be due to inflamed blood vessels of head. Only confirmatory test could be a biopsy of scalp tissue to confirm it.

Hope I could answer your questions. Feel free to ask more, I would be happy to help.

i did try t gel & tea tree shampoo both made it worse. I put a cream on my elbow & it helped it, but the pics on web md do not look like what i have on my elbow & that is the only place i have.My scalp does not look any different than the rest of my scalp. The medicine was Triamcinolone Acetonide. My grandson who was living with me got mrsa after having double hernia surgery at 4 months & he would break out really bad in diaper area so dr gave us this cream she told me to use it.

Brief Answer:
Chances of scalp infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam!

Thank you for your follow up question.

Since you gave history of your grandson who is MRSA infection, there are quite good chances of you getting infected with the same. Triamcinolone acetonide is a steroid cream and it helps in any kind of superficial infection, be it psoriasis or any other disease.

If it recurs back after the stoppage of using this cream as suggested by your physician, It could confirm psoriasis again or MRSA infection. On either case you need to get evaluated and treated for the same.

I would like you to talk to your doctor about the MRSA history and discuss about further management if required.

Hope I answered your query. If you have no further clarifications, please rate this answer and close this discussion.
