default
Posted on Wed, 9 Mar 2016
Question: My follow up question is my pain started on the outer left leg and and risen up to the buttock and back the pain sits constantly in the bottom outer left leg with very little movement in toes so this they think is due to my spine as I have degenerated discs at the bottom with a narrowing spine in your opinion do you think this needs some kind of surgery? As I seem to be very sensitive towards drugs and get a lot problems with persistently in pain

Brief Answer:
Yes, surgery can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and they are suggestive of a pinched nerve in the back, due to a prolapsed degenerated disc. This can be confirmed by doing an MRI scan of lumbo-sacral spine.

This condition can be well treated by surgery. Surgery is safe and effective, and this would avoid the side effects associated with drugs.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
