What Causes Late Periods Even After Taking Sysron-N?

Question: Doc my gf has taken sysron-n for 5 days.And after completing the dosage she has done pregnancy test which was negative. Her sysron-n dosages ended 4 days before.Why her period is not coming? How much days it will take? Is she pregnant?

it takes upto one week time to get menses

Hello sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Sysron N is a progesterone and when stopped leads to menstruation within a week.
So I would recommend you to wait for another 3 days for your periods.
But if at all she fails to get her periods then repeat a pregnancy test and see for result.
In case pregnancy test is negative but you still don't get your periods then visit your gynecologist as she might like to examine her for localization of the problem and advice her certain tests.
In my practice I usually ask for -
- pelvic ultrasound
- thyroid hormone levels
- prolactin levels.
