Yes, there is a connection. A sore throat followed by joint pains can occur in Acute Rheumatic Fever. But there are other possibilities too where a joint pain can be due to : 1. Viral Infection 2. Chicken guinea fever 3. Reactive Arthritis. At this age, Acute Rheumatic Fever is less common. However, i need following details to help you better: 1. When did you have sore throat? 2. After how many days of sore throat did you develop joint pains? 3. Did sore throat and joint pains occurred simultaneously? 4. Which joints are involved? Big joints or small joints? Please do mention if joint pains are migratory, means they first appeared in one joint and then moved to other. 5. How about fever? Is fever persisting? 6. Any history of recurrent itching in eyes? 7. What treatment you are taking for all your co-existing problems? 8. If you have any investigations please attach them.
