What Causes Itching In Stomach And Back?
Question: My son is 6 years old. Now a days he is telling that he feels itching on stomach and back. When he rubbing or scratching on the area where ever he feels itching, it is getting red with small blisters. After few days they turn into a light wound and then heals.
What could be the issue? Please suggest what we should do?

Scabies; 5% permethrin or 1% GBHC lotion
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you. I have reviewed the Images.
I suggest a possibility of Scabies. Treatment of scabies is with single application of 5% permethrin cream Or 1% gamma benzene hexachloride lotion (GBHC), from neck downwards to whole body, kept overnight to act for at least 8 -12 hours and followed by a bath next morning. All his clothes, bedsheets, towels, etc to be washed before reusing.
Any other family member if having similar symptoms should also be treated in the same way.
An otc oral antihistamine e.g syp cetrizine 5mg/ 5ml, 1 tsf, twice daily, will provide symptomatic relief from itching.
