Question: Hi. I need the expertise of a gynecologist. My vagina looks odd. Two years ago, it must've gotten irritated. I experienced itchiness, burning, discharge from my vagina and went to my family doctor. She said it was normal. I got a second opinion. Same advise. Please help. Does it look normal? Anything recommended to fix it(the look, condition). I have always been abstinate.

Brief Answer:
vaginitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
This appears to vaginitis and possible bacterial vaginosis. it is important that a high vaginal swab culture be undertaken to rule it out first. A course of antibiotics especially Doxycycline and ornidazole for a week can take care of your symptoms if the culture has been positive for trichomonal or bacterial infection. The gynecologist shall prescribe it for you after evaluation of the report.
